Sponsor the Newcomer’s Guide to Literary Boston
Help newcomers discover Boston’s literary community.
Boston has one of the richest literary communities in the country — but if you’re new to the city, it can be difficult to know where to begin.
Where are the independent bookstores? How do you find readings and author events? Where can writers take classes, join a community, or find opportunities? What are the major literary festivals and annual events? How can you explore the literary history that surrounds you?
Literary Boston is creating The Newcomer’s Guide to Literary Boston, an annual print and digital guide designed to help readers and writers discover, navigate, and participate in Greater Boston’s literary community.
The first edition is planned for Fall 2026. Would you like to help turn this idea into a reality?
What the guide will include
The approximately 20-page, full-color guide will introduce readers to the people, places, organizations, events, and resources that make up Boston’s literary ecosystem, including:

Book and author events, readings, festivals, and major annual events
Ways to volunteer, participate, and get involved
