• Massachusetts Center for the Book announced the winners of the 26th annual Massachusetts Book Awards.

• The Boston Athenaeum will host their annual Community Day open house on Saturday, September 19, from 10am to 3pm.

• GrubStreet will present "A Conversation with Colson Whitehead" at the Coolidge Corner Theatre on Thursday, October 1.

• The MAAH Stone Book Awards ceremony will take place Thursday, October 8 at the African Meeting House.

• The Spooktastic Book Fair returns on Saturday, September 26 to the Roundhead Brewing Company.

• The Concord Festival of Authors returns on Thursday, October 8, and runs through October 30.

• The Center for Arabic Culture's annual book fair will be held on Saturday, October 10 at Somerville High School.

• 826 Boston will host their annual Night of 1,000 Stories on Thursday, October 22.

• The BPL Fund’s annual fundraiser Night in the Stacks will take place on Friday, October 23 at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square.

• The Associates of the Boston Public Library announced their 2026–2027 writing fellows for the Alan Andres Writer-in-Residence and Picture Book Writer Fellow.

• The Boston Book Festival, returning to Copley Square on Saturday, October 17, announced its 2026 line-up.

• On August 10, Governor Healey signed the Mass. Freedom to Read act into law.

• Emmanuel Oppong-Yeboah, Boston's Poet Laureate, was recently awarded the Academy's Poet Laureate Fellowship.
